The Smart Campus program is a platform and partnership model for innovation collaboration with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The program boosts the competitiveness of Finnish companies with the introduction of novel technologies.

Research, development and innovation (RDI) aims to accelerate the digitalisation of society to tackle grand global challenges and meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Smart campuses pioneer new types of solutions and services that benefit widely the society, accelerate smart city development, and improve citizens’ well being.

Project Club generates systematically high impact ICT projects by combining effective project identification and preparation procedures as well as professional funding expertise. The ultimate objective is to generate new business cases and opportunities based on a multidisciplinary approach while ensuring external funding for research organizations. Project Club activities have local, national, and international dimensions.

Autoprojektiklubi

Automotive Project Club is a working group inside Oulu Automotive Cluster. Automotive Project Club members represent University of Oulu, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, companies and BusinessOulu.

Ways of working:

Regular 1hr meetings every 2 weeks

Identifies topics for Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) projects between researchers and companies

Coordinates the project preparations and monitors suitable call for submissions for financing.

Regular thematic meetings (Think Tanks) ca 4 times / year 

Agenda:

Identification and sparring of project ideas

Evaluation of project applications

Monitoring of project implementation

Ensuring the effectiveness of projects

Guiding principles:

Any club member can submit project ideas for further development

The partners involved in each project, funding, roles, access to results, etc. are agreed on a project-by-project basis

The content and direction of the activities are decided jointly by the participating actors

Making full use of the expertise, tools, research and piloting environments of the participating actors

We are looking for enthusiastic university students to work on a wide range of projects in fields such as IoT, artificial intelligence, software, and hardware. Our projects give you the opportunity to gain important professional skills and get your career rolling without hindering your studies. The skill requirements are different for every project, which means we can offer something for all levels of up-and-coming ICT professionals.

CraftMasters is a collaborative program by Allied ICT Finland, Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE) of the University of Oulu and Buutti Oy.

Increase of competition, saturation of market and internal efficiency targets set new challenges and drive companies to do business differently. Today’s business requires to innovate and be efficient at the same time. We need fast strategy in rapidly changing world. Small changes do not lead anywhere. We need to renew our way to do business. Smart Campus DigiAxel answer to this challenge and assist SMEs to change by offering product and business development collaboration. The task starts usually with mapping of the task. After this real development work is to be carried out and proposal for the challenge is suggested. Finally, the report is written. In order to get results that meet both parties’ expectations the task is carried out together with the company personnel. Tasks can be short that last one to two days or broader research projects that last one to two years. Collaboration with university fits well for the companies of which business area changes are happening fast, business environment is complicated and that want to benefit from university’s broad multidisciplinary competence.

Fenix is a real-time business case management tool for finding the right partners and creating compelling offers. Fenix proposes a new way of collaborating and finding new business opportunities.

Companies and cases are matched based on tags. Tags help you to find contacts, companies and cases. They also provide a quick and easy way to tell others what you are looking for and what you are offering. Tags are similar to, but more specific than, categories. Before you start collaborating with others, check that your profile tags and organization tags are up to date.
